ClickHouse Cloud

Click-Dog does not support ClickHouse Cloud yet. It is planned, and it needs some changes first.

Cloud keeps system.opentelemetry_span_log on each node separately, so reading a whole service means reading every replica. Click-Dog's cluster mode reads one replica per shard, which on Cloud would return some of the spans while looking like all of them. Fixing that is the main change. Cloud also runs ClickHouse Keeper privately, so the first version will be a single instance with no automatic failover.

Demand decides the order this gets built in. If you want Click-Dog on ClickHouse Cloud, say so.

Other managed providers

Some managed services expose no span log at all, and the live path has nothing to read on those. The historical query-log backfill may still be available as a separate source and mode. See Kubernetes: Managed ClickHouse for what to check before deploying against any managed service.
